These are considered by many to be the most choice of the show auriculas - grown well the edges have an almost unreal perfection. They should be protected from the rain - it spoils their looks... As with all show varieties each individual flower has a ring of farina or 'paste' around a bright yellow tube at its centre. On the greens the main part of the petal is black, with a green outside edge. The whites and greys have the same edge and black petal or 'body ' colour, but with a dusting of farina which also extends to the foliage. The thicker the farina, the whiter the flower. |
